This is a field trip course, and attendees must provide their own transportation and food at all times.
This course is designed to assist new appraiser trainees with up to 35 residential interior/exterior inspections (depending on availability) for appraiser experience towards licensure. Appraisal professionals will be assisted through the process of conducting residential property inspections with accuracy and attention to detail. Participants will learn essential techniques for evaluating key property features, identifying factors that affect value, and documenting findings effectively. Topics include best practices for interior and exterior assessments, recognizing condition and quality indicators, and understanding the impact of neighborhood and market influences. By completing this course, appraisers will be better equipped to perform thorough inspections that support reliable and credible property valuations.
Required equipment: 100’ tape measure (or electronic tape measure), clipboard, graphing paper or digital drawing board, camera or ability to take photos, writing utensils, clothing suitable for a construction site, no open-toed shoes or sandals, snacks and drinks as needed, laptop or tablet, experience log for supervisor to sign.
